Making New Connections
Realising the vision…Working together…Supporting the community
Saturday 26 - Sunday 27 April 2008, Savoy Place, London
Purposes of Conference:
- To reveal the IET’s vision, established by the Board of Trustees, for the forthcoming year and beyond
- To equip member volunteers to help deliver the vision
- To share ideas and best practice on a partnership basis between volunteers and staff
- To make new connections across the various member interest groups, all of which were represented at the Conference
- To make new connections with staff who can help volunteers achieve success in their activities
- To identify new connections with outside stakeholders, eg businesses, academia, schools and the public at large, to show how volunteers, partnered by staff, can help deliver the IET’s charitable remit
- To encourage informal networking and mutual enjoyment of each other’s company at the Conference Dinner
- To recognise the successes of member volunteers and interest groups through the presentation of the IET Network Awards.
